Most delays on a steel job come from the gaps between suppliers: one for cutting, one for bending, one for welding, one for finishing. Choosing a fabrication subcontractor is mostly about how many of those gaps you have to manage yourself.
What to look for
- Processes under one roof: cutting, CNC bending, welding and finishing in one workshop mean fewer hand-offs and one party responsible for the part.
- Heavy-section capability: ask for the actual limits, not a general claim. Ours: beams up to 1,000 mm wide and 12 m long, tube and pipe up to Ø650 mm, plate up to 50 mm mild steel.
- Files in, not only paper: a shop that works from DXF, STEP and NC1/DSTV files avoids retyping errors.
- Quality system: look for certified management systems. Morshedi is certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.
- Clear quotes: a quote should state material, quantity, finish and delivery date, so you can compare like with like.
- Location: a workshop in Dubai Industrial City is close to Dubai and the other emirates, which keeps deliveries short.

Questions to ask any subcontractor
- Which of cutting, bending, welding and finishing do you do in your own workshop?
- What are your largest beam, tube and plate sizes?
- Which file formats can you work from?
- What inspection documents can you supply?
- Can you show similar completed projects?
