Large-diameter pipe and tube are quoted faster and cut right the first time when the enquiry says exactly what each end and each opening looks like. This is what to put in the request.
The size range
Round pipe and tube up to Ø650 mm, in lengths up to 12 m. Square and rectangular sections are accepted within a 650 mm diagonal.
What to specify
- Size and material: outside diameter, wall thickness and grade.
- Length and quantity per mark.
- End cuts: square, angled, saddle, or bevelled for welding (up to 45 degrees).
- Holes and slots: position, size and which feature is the datum.
- Tolerance: state what the joint needs, so it can be confirmed against the part before quoting.
- After cutting: welding, bending, finishing or coating, and the delivery date.
- Inspection or certificates you require.
Send a model, not only a sketch
A STEP model or a dimensioned drawing removes guesswork on saddle ends and hole positions. If you only have a sketch, send it with the mating part so the joint can be understood.
